BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE PERRY COUNTY COMMISSION MET in its regular session on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at the Albert Turner, Sr. Courthouse Annex in the commission courtroom. The invocation was led by Albert Turner. The roll was called to establish a quorum.

ATTORNEY REPORT
Reported there was an act passed to change the competitive bid law threshold to $30,000 which takes effect August 2023.
ENGINEERING/EMA REPORT:
Reported there was a storm-water management grant from ADEM which requires a match of 35% which can be in-kind and/or cash.
Motion by Cedric Hudson and seconded by Anthony Long to apply for the ADEM grant for $150,000 with the 35% match. Motion carried.
Motion by Anthony Long and seconded by Thomas Harrison to allow the highway department to close from July 3-6 2023 and return on July 10 2023. Thomas Harrison withdrew his second.
Motion by Anthony Long and seconded by Albert Turner (gavel passed to Vice-Chair Thomas Harrison) to allow highway department to be closed July 3-6 2023. Substitute motion by Cedric Hudson and seconded by Thomas Harrison (gavel passed back to Chairman Albert Turner) to table this until the next meeting. Substitute motion was carried.
ITEM 10 EXCESS BOND FUNDS
Motion by Thomas Harrison and seconded by Anthony Long use excess bond funds for striping on County Road 29. Motion carried.
Motion by Thomas Harrison and seconded by Anthony Long to go into executive session for good name and character at 6:39 pm. Motion carried.
Motion by Thomas Harrison and seconded by Anthony Long to come back into executive session at 6:44 pm. Motion carried. No decisions were made in the executive session.
Motion by Anthony Long and seconded by Thomas Harrison to grant FMLA to Charles Johnson. Motion carried.
Motion by Thomas Harrison and seconded by Anthony Long to revise and strike through the line in 8.7.3 “is to be distinguished from administrative dismissal” Motion carried.
