On December 17th, Coach Bolding hosted a dinner at Lottie’s for the athletes and families of those who won the state championship in May 2023. Jarius Smith, Antashay Wilson, and Jamecia Hurt were awarded their state championship rings. Le’Naya Essex was not able to attend the dinner but was presented hers in person before she headed back to the University of Alabama after the Thanksgiving Holidays. Ke’Lashia Shelton competed in a basketball game that night, but Coach Bolding had already awarded her ring at a school assembly in front of all her classmates seeing as she’s the only state champion still in high school. Coach Bolding believes in ensuring all those who work hard enough to show they are the best of the best deserve to be rewarded for such actions. That’s why he always resources rings and banners for the gym wall to acknowledge such great feats. Expect to see these four rings doubled, if not tripled this May when the Running Rams compete again at the state meet.
