The partnership between Innovative Renal Care (IRC) and Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL is set to bring improved access to dialysis care and expertise to the local community. This exciting collaboration will provide vital services to people with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) through in-center hemodialysis and home hemodialysis. The new dialysis clinic, Vaughan Kidney Care, is scheduled to open its doors in early December 2023. Located at 1360 E. Highland Avenue in the Selma Center shopping area, the clinic offers convenience for patients in the community, being situated across from the Selma Mall.

The center will be affiliated with ScionHealth, a leading community-based hospital, ensuring access to top-quality healthcare. One of the key advantages of this partnership is the expertise of long-time community nephrologist, Kent Taylor, MD, from Vaughan Nephrology. Dr. Taylor will serve as the Medical Director for the center, bringing his extensive knowledge and experience in the field of nephrology to the forefront. He will work closely with the medical staff at the clinic to provide personalized and comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease. This partnership will also allow for increased access to home hemodialysis, a form of dialysis that allows patients to undergo treatment in the comfort of their own homes. This is particularly beneficial for those with transportation or mobility issues, as well as for those who prefer to have more control over their treatment. Home hemodialysis also offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing patients to receive treatment at times that fit their lifestyle. The new dialysis clinic will not only bring access to necessary treatments, but also contribute to the overall health and well-being of the community. By offering specialized care for kidney disease, the clinic will help improve the overall health outcomes of its patients and positively impact the community as a whole. Through this partnership, Innovative Renal Care and Vaughan Regional Medical Center are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to those living with kidney disease in the Selma community. The clinic is expected to become a trusted and reliable source of support for patients and their families, providing a better quality of life for individuals living with ESRD.
