An agreement between the City of Marion and the Perry County Commission will start the repair of the Coretta Scott – King Memorial Highway.

The MOU was signed and approved by the Mayor and the Marion City Council at their March 4th Monday night meeting. The cost of the repairs was cut in half after the mayor stated that the city was unable to pay the $18,444.20 and asked that the Commission consider renegotiating the price. During the Commission meeting on February 27th, Vice Chairman Brett Harrison (R) D3 made the motion to remove the cost of machine hours off the bill to help the city with the cost. Chairman Turner accepted the motion which passed unanimously. The new cost for the repairs is now $9,000.00 which must be paid in advance before any work is to begin.
