A Sumter County civil jury awarded a York woman $3,500,000.00 on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 after she was seriously injured in a 2021 automobile accident with a B.E.E. Trucking logging truck. Ebony Brown, who was represented by John T. Stamps III of The Black Belt Law Group and Taylor T. Perry, Jr. and Hunter Compton of the law firm of Manley, Traeger, Perry, Stapp and Compton in Demopolis, sustained herniated discs in her neck and back when her automobile was struck by a log that fell from a B.E.E. Trucking logging truck.

“I am very proud the jury saw through the unwarranted attacks on Ebony and made a just award for Ebony. I will always fight the good fight for the people of the Black Belt like Ebony Brown” Stamps said. “The jury’s award is just because Ebony will have to deal with pain and suffering for the rest of her life. I trust the judgment of the jury in this case and we are prepared to defend the jury’s verdict on appeal” Perry said.

The Defendants, Eric Tyler Stokes and B.E.E. Trucking, LLC, were represented by Attorney Hugh Harris and Attorney James Potts of the Law Firm of Stockham, Cooper & Potts, PC of Birmingham, Alabama and Attorney Brian Smith of Livingston, Alabama.
