1. On Wednesday, June 23, 2023, Marion Perry Library’s Summer Reading Program featured 7-year-old young author Dajah Nemo. As the author of the book “Dajah and the Beast,” which chronicles her experience with the coronavirus, Dajah was joined by her mother, Virginia, and her grandmother Francita.

  1. Depositors prepared to unload on Cadence Bank in Uniontown as the June 30th deadline approached as Chairman Turner led to ensure that Uniontown does not become a banking desert.

 

  1. Perry County Courthouse back to renovations after months of delays due to material delivery. Construction continued phase three, which involved restoring the porches, steps, and railings around the courthouse and the square.

  1. Perry County and Uniontown received over $2 million for water system upgrades by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for a new water well to provide additional water access for its citizens and will be able to extend its services to more customers while still providing high-quality water to rural areas, thanks to the grant funds.
