The Alabama State Games, in partnership with the AHSAA Radio Network, announces The Gold Standard Student-Athlete of the Week. Each week a student-athlete from throughout the state will be chosen exemplifying the GOLD STANDARD.  

Meet Yasmine Murphy | Francis Marion High School

They said: Yasmine has been with me since her 7th-grade year and has been someone I can depend on from day one. She’s never once had a single behavioral issue within or outside of school walls. She always strives to support others, and to find ways to help out in all situations of her life. I’m thankful to have her on the team and look forward to seeing her grow as a person, student, and athlete.

WHAT ARE THE ALABAMA STATE GAMES? 

The Alabama State Games is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 1982 at the request of the U.S. Olympic Committee. Since 1982, the Alabama State Games has grown into the state’s largest annual multi-sport competition with nearly 5,000 athletes (of all ages and abilities) competing in 27 sports. The core beliefs are academic excellence, healthy lifestyle choices and good citizenship. We have awarded over $363,000 in academic scholarships through our Scholarship Initiative Program. We believe anyone and everyone can be the GOLD STANDARD.
