1. MMI Gets New Tennis Coach “Coach Christopher “Trey” Bogue” and new tennis court.
  2. The Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Kappa Lambda Sigma Marion Chapter awarded a $500 academic scholarship to a deserving Francis Marion School male graduate. The annual scholarship is awarded annually in honor of a fraternity member who was an educator at Francis Marion School. This year honoree is Rev. Dr. Bro. Anthony Trimble. Dr. Trimble

This year honoree was Rev. Dr. Bro. Anthony Trimble who has provided 36 years of educational service to FMS.

 

  1. Main Street Marion and Marion Military Institute hosted the UA Honor’s College Students for their 16th year of projects in the Marion, Alabama community.  Director Dana Patton, Assistant Director David Bolus and Artist in Residence Chip Cooper formed teams fanning out for projects at Breakthrough Charter, Francis Marion, Lincoln Normal School, Sowing Seeds of Hope, the Perry County Library, and the Marion Art Center.  Projects included math tutoring, assistance with college application prep, cleanup crews, exhibit creation at Lincoln Normal School, art exhibit design and implementation and art projects coordinated for our local school children.
